Sign Repair Tucson: From a Single Bulb to a Full Refurbishment
When your sign goes dark, flickers or fades, customers notice.
Addisigns has provided sign repair in Tucson since 1955. Our service work covers everything from replacing a bulb to a complete refurbishment of an older sign. We also set up maintenance plans so small problems get caught before they turn into big ones.
A sign that is half lit or peeling tells people driving by something about the business behind it. A sign that works and looks clean does the opposite. Our job is to keep yours in the second group.
We are a locally owned Tucson sign company with our own shop, our own service trucks and our own crews. Repairs that need shop work go back to our U.L.-certified manufacturing facility at 3808 East 38th Street. Field repairs happen on site from our bucket trucks, ladder trucks and lifts.
Sign Repair Services We Provide
Dark letters, failed power supplies, faded faces and storm damage, handled by the same team that builds signs.
Bulb and LED Replacement
Burned-out lamps and failed LED modules can leave a sign looking neglected. A few dark letters or a dim section of a cabinet is often a quick fix. We find the failed components, replace them and test the sign so it lights evenly again.
LED Retrofits for Older Signs
Many older cabinet signs and channel letters were built with fluorescent tubes or neon. When those signs start needing frequent service, an LED retrofit is often a good option. We remove the old lighting and power components and install LED lighting inside the existing sign. The sign keeps its shape and structure while getting a modern light source. LED lighting generally uses less power and needs less frequent lamp replacement than fluorescent tubes.
Neon Sign Repair
Neon still has a place on classic storefronts and signs with character. We repair neon signs, including broken or failing tubes and the components that power them. If you want to keep the look of your neon, we can help you keep it running. If you would rather switch to LED, we can talk through that too.
Faded Face Replacement
The Arizona sun is hard on sign faces. Colors fade, plastic gets brittle and graphics peel. Replacing a faded face on a cabinet sign or monument is one of the fastest ways to make an old sign look new. Our design team can match your existing artwork or update it, and our fabrication shop builds the new face to fit.
Ballast, Power Supply and Wiring Repair
When a sign will not light at all, or lights only part of the time, the problem is often a ballast, a power supply, a transformer or the wiring between them. We troubleshoot the electrical side of the sign, replace failed parts and correct wiring problems. Electrical connections are handled by licensed electricians.
Storm and Monsoon Damage
Monsoon season in Southern Arizona brings high wind, heavy rain and blowing debris. Signs take a beating. We repair cracked or broken faces, damaged cabinets, bent letters, loose mounting and water-related electrical problems. If a storm has left your sign damaged or unsafe, call us at 520-748-1540.
Neon, cabinets, message centers and multi-tenant signs, kept bright for Arizona businesses.

Refurbishing Older Signs
Some signs are worth saving. A well-built cabinet, a solid pylon structure or a monument base often has years of life left in it. Refurbishing can include new paint, new faces, new lighting, new electrical components and repairs to the structure. The result is a sign that looks current while keeping the parts that still work.
We start with a site survey to record the sign’s condition, measurements and electrical access, along with photos. From there we can tell you what a refurbishment would involve.
Rebranding and Name Change-Over Reface
When a business changes its name, updates its logo or a new tenant moves into a shopping center, the existing sign structure can often stay. A reface replaces the faces or graphics on the existing cabinet or multi-tenant sign. Channel letters can be removed and replaced with new ones on the same wall.
Property managers use this service whenever tenants turn over. Some changes may need a new permit, and our in-house permit specialist can handle that.
Sign Maintenance Plans
Regular maintenance keeps a sign working and looking good, and helps catch problems early.
Maintenance plans are a good fit for property managers, multi-location businesses and anyone who depends on an illuminated sign to bring in customers after dark. Call us to talk about a plan that fits your signs.
Our maintenance plans include:
- Checking electrical components, including lighting, power supplies and connections
- Cleaning sign faces so they look clear and bright
- Making adjustments to keep the sign working properly
When to Repair and When to Replace
Not every sign should be repaired. Here are some general guidelines we use when we look at a sign with you.
Repair usually makes sense when:
- The structure, cabinet and mounting are sound
- The problem is limited to lighting, a power supply or a face
- The sign still reflects your current brand
Replacement is worth considering when:
- The structure is rusted, cracked or unsafe
- The sign needs repeated repairs on the same problem
- Your brand, name or location needs have changed
- You want a different sign type, such as moving to halo-lit channel letters or adding a digital message center
We will give you an honest assessment either way. If replacement is the better choice, we design, build, permit and install new signs in-house. You can browse sign types on our signs page.
